Following What Resonates When Nothing Makes Sense

There is a quiet misunderstanding woven into much of our language around growth and transformation. We speak of becoming, becoming wiser, becoming awakened, becoming whole, as though something essential is missing and must be acquired. Yet initiation does not move in the direction of accumulation. It moves inward. What we call transformation is not the creation of a new self, but the remembering of what has always been present beneath conditioning, fear, and forgetting.
What falls away along this path is not who you are, but who you learned to be in order to belong, to survive, or to feel safe. Initiation does not add to the self. It subtracts what is false. And in that subtraction, something remarkably simple remains unburdened, unperformed, and quietly intact.
One of the earliest capacities to return during this remembering is resonance. Long before we learned to justify our choices or override our instincts, we knew how to feel what was aligned. We felt it in the body as a quiet yes or no. As a sense of rightness or resistance that required no explanation. Over time, this sensitivity was dulled in favor of certainty, approval, and control. Initiation restores it.
Learning to notice and follow resonance may be the most important skill cultivated on this path. Not because it offers certainty, but because it offers honesty. Resonance does not tell you where you are going. It tells you whether you are aligned in this moment. It does not shout. It does not argue. It waits.
This does not mean the path becomes easy. Resonance will sometimes lead you away from comfort, familiarity, and approval. It will ask you to let go of what is impressive in favor of what is true. Yet it will never lead you away from yourself. Initiation does not require certainty. It requires sincerity the willingness to remain present, to notice what is alive, and to trust what quietly resonates, even when the path ahead cannot yet be seen.
If these words speak to your heart, I invite you to step into the journey through my books The Initiate, The Initiate: Remembering, Synchronicity: Illuminating Your Destined Path, and Mindfulness: The First Step to Reconnecting With Your Soul. May their pages remind you that you are never alone and that your path, no matter how winding, has always been leading you home.
With Love,
